As a Data Engineer in PayXpert you will...

Develop and maintain scalable data systems that enable real-time information for reporting, analytics, and actionable insights. This role focuses on building secure and efficient data infrastructure capable of managing high transaction volumes while collaborating with cross-functional teams to foster efficiency and elevate professionalism within the team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Data Infrastructure Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to handle large-scale structured and unstructured data.
• Data Quality Assurance: Implement validation and monitoring mechanisms to uphold data integrity, accuracy, and reliability.
• Performance Optimization: Analyse system performance, resolve bottlenecks, and address scaling challenges within the data infrastructure.
• Integration and Deployment: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy automation models efficiently and seamlessly into production environments.
• Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices, recommending and implementing tools and methodologies to enhance our processes.
• Guidance Role: Serve as a point of support within the team to assist data analysts in developing their skills through collaboration on assigned projects.
• Collaboration: Partner closely with back office teams to understand data requirements and deliver tailored technical solutions.
• Documentation and Standards: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data pipelines, systems architecture, and processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Preferred candidate profile

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Job Experience

• At least 5 years of proven experience in data engineering, with expertise in building and managing data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and analysis.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Solid understanding of data modelling, schema design, and data warehousing concepts.
• Prior experience using Git and Bash.
• Experience with Apache Airflow, Talend, and CI/CD tools.
• API management is highly valued.
• Experience working with Azure, Talend and NoSQL databases is a plus.

Professional Knowledge:

• Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Attention to detail with precise and effective communication
• Focus and intuition for understanding the needs of the business
• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
